AlizarinZ is a visionary artist and art director based in Queens, New-York. Born in the crumbling former Soviet Union and raised in conflict-stricken Israel, her work is a rebellious act of positivity against a turbulent existence.  

Alizarin incorporates classic visual art techniques with new media like projection mapping, 360° videography and VR to transform environments and speculate alternative realities. Being devoted to nature, the materials Alizarin favors are either virtual, recycled, or organic – such as mushroom molds and living plants.  

Alizarin’s rich aesthetic is easily recognizable for bright, intense, warm colors, with a signature palette of pinks and reds, to match the meaning of her name, a shade of red. Alizarin’s style ranges widely between whimsical kawaii, through illusory psychedelia to figurative hyper-realism. 

Alizarin’s former collaborative work includes award-winning avant-garde cinematic formats including the interactive Like a Rolling Stone music video and the documentary series Connected.

Alizarin’s current exploration leverages ultraviolet and glowing paint within sound-reactive light installations to reveal encrypted meanings in artifacts that may seem static at first glance. Loaded with humor, provocation and playfulness, Alizarin’s art practice may simultaneously disturb and delight, in the name of her pursuit to joyfully shatter societal norms.
